Actual Finance is an independent data project built and maintained by a solo developer. It is not a company, a fund, or a financial advisory service, and it holds no licenses — it is a calculator over public data.

The site exists because most investment-return content online is hype: cherry-picked entry points, returns quoted without inflation, and no benchmark. Every number here is shown nominal and inflation-adjusted, always against the S&P 500 with dividends reinvested.

All data comes from free public sources (Coin Metrics, Binance, Yahoo Finance, FRED) and refreshes automatically every week. Every calculation is reproducible — see the full methodology
